Dr Emma Crosbie, the NIHR Clinician Scientist who initiated the Womb Cancer Priority Setting Partnership, has been awarded a ‘Highly Commended’ honour in the NIHR New Media Competition. The film about the partnership (called the ‘Womb Cancer Alliance’) was recognised by the judges for effectively demonstrating how patients can help researchers to decide on research priorities.
Emma commented “We are delighted to receive this commendation. We believe that involving patients and the public in shaping the research agenda is critical to success. It ensures the right questions are asked and that potential solutions are acceptable to patients. We are passionate about raising public awareness about womb cancer and promoting much needed research into womb cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. We hope our work encourages funders, researchers and the public to work together to deliver research to improve the lives of women affected by womb cancer.”
Congratulations to Emma and the PSP team.
