The NIHR has published a new report (.PDF) about setting future priorities for mesothelioma research. The report follows an NIHR-funded Priority Setting Partnership (PSP) set up by the James Lind Alliance to identify and prioritise future mesothelioma research topics.
Mesothelioma is a rare and often fatal form of cancer with very poor survival rates, most commonly associated with breathing in significant amounts of asbestos dust. Research into mesothelioma has been highlighted as a priority by the NIHR.
The partnership brought patients, carers and health professionals together in an extensive consultation to help identify and prioritise the unanswered questions that concern them most about the disease.
You can read more about the PSP on its page on the JLA website.
