I came to the UK from Pakistan at the age of 10 and have experience of the UK healthcare system as a migrant child. I think children’s perspectives are important in a project like this. Although it was a very long time ago, I remember my first year or two in the UK being a very unsettling and lonely experience. Over the years I have had time to reflect on how that experience might have been less traumatic if I had had some agency. I hope my experience will enable me to make a useful contribution to the Steering Group.
