Declan Roughan
Declan Roughan recovered from alcohol addiction in 1996 and then from drug addiction in 2007 and has been working for the last 25 years helping other addicts to recover. Declan’s recovery journey began over 30 years ago culminating in emergency admission to Dundonald Hospital in1996 for alcohol poisoning followed by attendance at the residential Aiseri rehabilitation Clinic for alcohol addiction in Wexford, Ireland. This was followed by admission to the Sunrise Detox Centre for opiate and benzo addiction in Lake Worth, Florida in 2007 and attendance at the Beechcomber Rehabilitation Centre in Delray, Florida after discharge from the detox clinic. Declan currently works for ASCERT Northern Ireland as an associate trainer in alcohol and drug addiction and is also a commercial photographer.
