Prehabilitation for Hip & Knee Replacement Surgery
About this Priority Setting Partnership
The demand for elective orthopaedic surgery to manage musculoskeletal conditions is increasing and alongside an aging population this has placed an unprecedented demand on orthopaedic services. Prehabilitation during the wait for surgery presents an opportunity to optimise and influence the mental and physical wellbeing of a patient.
The scope of the PSP will cover all aspects of prehabilitation in managing and supporting the emotional and physical well-being of individuals awaiting hip or knee replacement surgery and will focus on adults (over 18).
The Prehabilitation for Hip & Knee Replacement Surgery initial survey opened in November 2024.
