Funded Research

The list below shows some of the ways in which questions highlighted as important by James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnerships (PSPs) are being addressed. This is research that we know has come about as a direct result of a PSP. We know that other research will be taking place that answers PSP questions, perhaps having been suggested already for other reasons. We’re keen to hear from you if you know of studies that we haven’t mentioned that directly result from a PSP. Please contact us.

NIHR's Rolling Call for Research Applications

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) has long recognised the value of bringing communities together in JLA PSPs to identify and agree priorities for research.  NIHR's rolling call highlights further its interest in receiving applications from researchers wanting to address JLA PSP priority areas.

The research programmes participating in the rolling call are:

  • Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation (EME)
  • Health Technology Assessment (HTA)
  • Health and Social Care Delivery Research (HSDR)
  • Invention for Innovation (i4i)
  • Programme Grants for Applied Research (PGfAR)
  • Public Health Research (PHR)
  • Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB)
  • Research Programme for Social Care (RPSC)

You can find current funding opportunities on the NIHR website.

In September 2019 Professor Hywel Williams, then Director of the NIHR HTA Programme, spoke in a video message about how researchers can make the most of PSP priorities when applying for funding to research them.
